Up Close: A Look At 2018 Allied Member Of The Year Mike Lawlor

(CHICAGO) March 16, 2018 – Mike Lawlor, Chief Services Office of USA Technologies, was recently announced as NAMA’s Allied Member of the Year as part of the association’s 2018 Industry Awards. Lawlor will be presented with his award on March 21 at The NAMA Show in Las Vegas. 

The NAMA Allied Member of the Year award recognizes an individual who has exhibited the highest level of integrity, dedication, and leadership in the convenience services industry. The recipient of this award has provided innovative products and services and demonstrated responsiveness to the needs of the industry through education and best practices, helping operators to grow their businesses. 

For 21 years, Mike has been an instrumental leader in advancing the adoption of USA Technologies’ suite of electronic payment services through national strategic partnerships, with a major focus on the company’s ePort® Connect Service. Previously, he served as USAT’s senior vice president of sales and business development, creating innovative sales programs, national partnerships and working across functions within the company to provide the technology solutions which help drive growth and ensure USAT’s leadership position in the self-service retail market. 

Prior to his roles at USAT, Lawlor worked for PepsiCo, serving as National Accounts Sales Manager for the PepsiCo national food service team. Throughout his time at PepsiCo he managed retail, restaurant and vending business sectors in regional and national roles that spanned several functions including sales, operations, and sales management in the Dallas and Houston, Texas markets. 

Committed to serving the industry on a broader scale, Lawlor serves on NAMA’s Board of Directors and as a task force member for the Executive Forum. An expert in industry technology and cashless payments, he shares his expertise, leading education sessions and panels on a range of topics at The NAMA Show and other industry events. Lawlor also participates in policy discussions helping inform NAMA advocacy efforts, sharing knowledge on technology trends and digital solutions. 

Lawlor holds a Bachelor’s of Business Administration from the University of Texas Arlington. He lives in Paoli, Pennsylvania with his family.
