Temporary Increase At Pump Due To Holiday Demand

In the last week of 2017, the average price for a gallon of gas was $2.44, which was an increase of two cents on the week according to AAA NewsRoom. The increase in driving demand as drivers travel for the holidays is likely the reason for the increase. The week's average is about 26 cents per gallon higher than a year ago. The cheapest gas is in Alabama at $2.17 and the most expensive is in Hawaii at $3.29.
