MVA Awards 36 Students Scholarship Money

The Massachusetts Vending Association Scholarship Fund, a tax exempt, public charity, announced today that it has awarded a record $34,600 in scholarship aid to thirty-six students whose parents are employed by both operator and supplier member companies. The winners are chosen by an independent evaluation committee of professional educators. This year’s top scholarships were awarded to: 

Amand Ziff, sponsored by Polar Beverages earned the Allan Gilbert Award 

Kevin Lyons, sponsored by Coca-Cola Company earned the Larry Levine Award 

Erica Fallon sponsored by Foley FoodService earned the Stephen Foley Jr Memorial Award 

Allan Gilbert is a founder of the Fund, its first Chairman, a current Trustee and its foremost benefactor. Larry Levine is a founder of the Fund and a generous benefactor. Stephen Foley Jr. passed away unexpectedly as a young adult and is the son of current fund Chairman Stephen Foley. Steve graduated from Boston College where he was a four-year MVA Scholarship Fund award recipient. 

Since its inception, the Fund has granted more than $563,000 in scholarship aid. It is supported by voluntary contributions from the member companies and the investment income from its funded endowment.
