U.S. Adds 156,000 Jobs In Sept. 2016, Jobless Rate Increases To 5 Percent

The U.S. economy added 156,000 jobs in September, and the unemployment rate was little changed at 5.0 percent, the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics reported. Employment gains occurred in professional and business services and in health care. 

Since the start of 2016 the U.S. added an average of 178,000 jobs per month, reports The New York Times.
