NAMA 2016 Fly-In By The Numbers

July 15, 2016

(CHICAGO) July 15, 2016 – NAMA announced today that early results indicate record-breaking participation during this week’s second annual Fly-In in Washington, D.C.  Initial reports show that participants met with a record 81 percent of the U.S. Senate and 30 percent of the U.S. House of Representatives, reaching a total of 39 percent of congressional offices overall.

In a significant increase following last year's inaugural Fly-In, nearly 275 attendees participated in more than 200 meetings with elected officials and their staffs on Capitol Hill, building awareness on key convenience services industry issues and further expanding NAMA’s footprint in Washington.

The Fly-In, NAMA’s largest and most comprehensive advocacy effort to date, drew participants from 41 states and the District of Columbia. Meeting discussions focused on three main issues: Nutrition and Wellness, the Small Business Regulatory Flexibility Improvements Act and Sustainability.

Founded in 1936, NAMA is the association representing the $25 billion U.S. convenience services industry.  With more than 1100 member companies – including many of the world’s most recognized brands – NAMA provides advocacy, education and research for its membership.
