Top Food Trends From The 2016 Natural Products Expo West

Branding and innovation expert Claire Nuttall reveals several trends for Bakeryandsnacks.com seen at this year’s Natural Products Expo West, which took place in Anaheim, CA, from March 10 to 12. According to Nuttall, manufacturers showcased half-popped corn which reportedly combines “the crunch of a tasey savory bike with the puffed corn element.” Continuing with the popcorn trend, Nuttall found that one manufacturer was using a black jewel corn which produce no crispy outer when popped.

Other suppliers were showcasing trail mix and jerky combos with separate packages. Meanwhile, the author found hemp to be making big waves as well at the show, predicting that it will be a growth opportunity for manufacturers. To read the article in its entirety, click here.
