Minneapolis, MN, Passes Healthy Food Ordinance For Retailers

Vending machines aren’t the only retailers seeing product restrictions and guidelines. The Minneapolis City Council recently voted to pass an ordinance that requires any establishment with a grocery store license (including convenience stores) to offer a predetermined amount of “healthy items”, according to KSTP. Businesses that do not comply will receive written notifications with referrals to resources this first year. Citations will be issued for violations starting year two. Full article
