“In the face of all the activity in Washington, D.C., all systems are ‘go’ for NAMA’s Public Policy Conference. Nearly 50 participants are literally hitting the ground running to ensure the success and value of the conference,” said Eric Dell, NAMA’s senior vice president of government affairs, in a prepared statement. “While we recognize the need to put our agenda in perspective, we are working toward a series of productive meetings, including those with the U.S. Mint and members of Congress. Coin and currency has always been a key issue for us and our colleagues at the U.S. Mint are ready to share updates with us, to help us plan forward as an industry.”

Dell continued, “Scheduled meetings include, but are not limited to, visits with House and Senate members, including: Candice Miller, R-Mich.; Jackie Speier, D-Calif.; John Lewi, D-Ga.; Tom Price, R-Ga.; Spencer Bachus, R-Ala.; Senator Tim Scott, R-S.C. and Senator Roy Blunt, Mo. These influential leaders are important in expanding NAMA’s advocacy efforts on behalf of the industry.”

Board members, government affairs committee members, and Emerging Leaders from NAMA will meet with members of Congress representing districts where they live and work. Discussions with members of Congress will focus on: health, nutrition and wellness; electronic payment fees; coin and currency and the effects of federal regulatory expansion.
