The momentum will continue to build on the second day of the National Automatic Merchandising Association (NAMA) OneShowSM with a featured event that is planned to inform, excite and celebrate attendees. Beginning at 8:30 a.m., April 26, 2012, Thursday morning will provide updates on the vending and refreshment services industry, recognize new innovations and motivate registered attendees to achieve professional and personal success.
NAMA Chairman Brad Ellis will lead the association’s annual meeting and deliver a brief overview of his perspective on how vending has evolved and how consumers view it today. He will also offer tangible solutions to some of the challenges the industry currently faces. Ellis will discuss the need for new locations and technologies, encourage a collaborative approach between all segments of the industry, and share how the industry growth strategy is already helping the association change consumer perceptions about the vending experience and boost industry confidence. He will also address NAMA’s strategic vision for the future under a new generation of leadership. As a thought leader, his presentation will provide realistic ideas on how each and every NAMA member can participate in the advancement of the industry in 2012 and beyond.
This year’s OneShow keynote speaker, Flip Flippen, will bring his motivational message to NAMA members on how to change negative thoughts and behaviors into positive action. Flippen is an accomplished educator, business coach, entrepreneur and author of the best-selling book, “The Flip Side: Break Free of the Behaviors That Hold You Back.” His proven, life-changing approach involves just a few simple strategies to achieve dramatic improvements in performance, leadership and productivity. Flippen will help attendees learn how to overcome personal constraints, establish goals and develop an action plan for life. He will teach his audience how to break free of the barriers that stand in the way of their personal and professional success.
Flippen has worked with thousands of individuals and businesses around the world, including the NFL, NASCAR and Fortune 500 corporations, and some of the largest school districts in the country. All attendees will have the chance to take home a copy of Flippen’s book, a New York Times and USA Today best seller.
Always a highlight of the OneShow, the NAMA innovation awards will recognize the industry’s brightest minds who continue to move the industry forward. During Thursday’s featured event, awards will be given out in a variety of categories to showcase the hard work and creativity that has resulted in fresh ideas, new technologies, breakthrough machines, products and processes. This year, operators were also invited to be recognized in the following categories: store design, packaging, and merchandising/promotion.
All entries were evaluated by a panel of industry judges that included Paul Schlossberg, Jerry McVety and Mike Tompkins. Registered attendees walking the trade show floor will clearly see this year’s top innovators, as all qualified entries’ will have an iSpot symbol displayed in their booths throughout the OneShow.
The NAMA innovation awards highlight the industry’s most creative thinkers and lets them know that they are valued for their vision, hard work and dedication. Without fresh ideas and new technology, the vending and refreshment services industry would not be facing such a bright future.
