CHICAGO – September 18, 2019 – Bill Walsh, founder and president of Continental Vending in Anaheim, CA, died Friday, Sept. 13, following a brief illness.
As a leader in the industry for more than five decades, Bill served as both Chair of NAMA as well as Founder and President of California Automatic Vendors Council (CAVC). His commitment to the future of the industry was exemplified through the Walsh Family CAVC Scholarship Foundation, founded in 1996, which awards scholarships to assist students sponsored by member companies who have shown a desire to further their education.
Bill was named the NAMA 2007 Industry Person of the Year, having started the business out of his garage in 1961. Additional recognition included the CAVC's Sid S. Kallick Memorial Award, CAVC ‘s Harold Steuber Award, NAMA's Legislative Leadership Award and the St. Vincent de Paul Food Donor of the Year.
Bill’s legacy will live on as Continental Vending will continue to operate under the management of his business partners.
Services will be held Friday, Sept. 20 in his hometown of Yorba Linda, CA.
