(CHICAGO) February 27, 2018 – Joe Hessling, Founder and CEO of 365 Retail Markets, was recently announced as NAMA’s Industry Person of the Year as part of the association’s 2018 Industry Awards. Hessling will be presented with his award on March 21 at The NAMA Show in Las Vegas.

The NAMA Industry Person of the Year Award recognizes an individual who has consistently exemplified the highest standards of professional excellence throughout his or her career in the convenience services industry, has been active in leadership roles, and has been an inspiration to others.

Since 2008, Joe has served as Founder and CEO of 365 Retail Markets, delivering dynamic workplace technology transforming breakrooms and connecting employees with products at work. The company’s self-service technology provides a turnkey platform, allowing industry operators to increase sales, improve the customer experience and increase profits while reducing cost. 365’s Connected CampusSM products range from its MicroMarket and nanomarket™ self-service kiosks to vending and dining point-of-sale systems to apps like 365Pay, 365Sidecar and others that provide a fully integrated consumer experience in the workplace. What began as a venture in a garage has grown to a staff of 150 employees and more than 20,000 payment centers across the globe.

A lifelong entrepreneur, Joe has founded, owned and operated several successful companies prior to founding 365. Before tackling the convenience services industry, he wore multiple hats throughout his career in foodservice, including distributing restaurant products, owning restaurants, catering, leading corporate dining operations and more.

Dedicated to serving the industry on a broader scale, Joe is a member of NAMA’s Board of Directors and serves on multiple NAMA committees. An innovator working to advance the industry, Joe is involved in industry education, serving on the Executive Forum Task Force and speaking regularly on technology, micro markets and new industry channels and opportunities. An industry advocate, Joe has hosted site visits with Michigan lawmakers at his office and is a regular Fly-In and Public Policy Conference participant, meeting with legislators to build awareness on convenience services.

Hessling was named Champion of the New Economy by Dbusiness, with 365 recognized as a Crain’s Michigan Fast 50, one of the Inc. 5000 List of America’s Fastest-Growing Private Companies, two years in a row, as well as one of the Michigan 50 Companies to Watch by Michigan Celebrates Small Business. The company also earned both Automatic Merchandiser’s Readers’ Choice Product of the Year recognition, and a NAMA Innovation Award

Hessling shares his knowledge and innovation experience as a speaker and presenter at global technology and industry events as well as an advisor and investor for other start-ups.
