Chelsea, Mass. To Enact Strictest Trans Fat Ban In U.S.

Lawmakers in Chelsea, Mass., have voted to enact a zero trans fat ban for the city’s restaurants, when most other locations have allowed for “trace” amounts, such as those under .5 grams per serving, according to National Restaurant Association. Starting Jan. 1 , 2015, zero trans fats will be allowed to be served by all food establishments within the city.  Breaking the ban will earn fines of $100 to $300 dollars. Full article.
