Wometco Exec, Vending Industry Supporter Sylvan “Van” Myers Passes Away

Sylvan “Van” Myers spent over 40 years at Wometco Enterprises, Inc. in Miami, Fla. Myers was head of the data division, executive vice president of bottling, vending and food service operations and finally president and CEO, according to the Miami Herald. He retired in 1984. Full article.

"He gave his life to the vending industry and there are still people in the industry that would know his name," said Carl Moser general manager of Canteen-Cardinal in Chesapeake Va., and Myers' grandson. Moser has followed in the vending tradition having been a past president of the Virginia Automatic Merchandising Association (VAMA), 2010 recipient of the VAMA Vendor of the Year award and current vice chair for the ACE convention. "I owe everything to him," added Moser about his grandfather.
