Seattle, Wash. City Council Proposes Healthy Vending Initiative

Vending machines in Seattle, Wash. will be required to stock half of every vending machine in city buildings and offices with healthy foods under an ordinance being considered by the Seattle City Council, according to The Seattle Times. Healthy items are defined by the King County Healthy Vending Guidelines and include baby carrots, whole-grain crackers, rice cakes fruit in light syrup and low-sodium nuts. Full article.
