Editor’s Insight: Florida lawmakers just won’t give up on trying to squeeze money from the bottled water industry.

After a proposal from former Gov. Charlie Crist to impose a bottled water tax failed, another lawmaker came back earlier this year with another proposed tax, but that bill never got a hearing.

Now another lawmaker comes along with another approach: charge bottled water companies a fee for pumping water.

The refreshment services industry needs to join with the beverage industry and keep this discriminatory measure from being imposed. In the end, the consumer gets socked with the extra cost. 12-01-10 By Elliot Maras
