U.S. Foodservice, announced it has acquired the local restaurant distribution business of White Apron, a supplier and processor of premium fresh meats based in Brea, Calif. The business will be integrated into the U.S. Foodservice-Los Angeles division, in La Mirada, Calif.
"The addition of the White Apron local restaurant distribution business will expand our customer base to include some of the leading restaurants in Southern California," said Gene Steffes, division president, U.S. Foodservice-Los Angeles in a prepared statement. "White Apron will continue to operate as a wholesale meat supplier and processor, supplying high-quality meats that help U.S. Foodservice customers succeed."
John Reese, president, White Apron, said, "We look forward to working with the U.S. Foodservice-Los Angeles team to provide a seamless transition for all our valued customers. We are excited to have the opportunity to not only continue supplying meat to our former customers but now will help provide a full line of quality protein items to the entire family of U.S. Foodservice customers."
White Apron will be a preferred supplier to U.S. Foodservice of premium fresh meats in the Southern California market. In addition, White Apron will continue to service its retail and other non-distribution customers.
Two White Apron protein specialists will join U.S. Foodservice-Los Angeles division to serve customers.
Terms of the acquisition were not disclosed.
