Binghamton University Relies Upon Student Input For Healthy Dining Options At Sodexo-Operated Venue

July 23, 2019

Food Management reports that the Sodexo-operated Binghamton University Dining Services (BUDS) at Binghamton University in New York is actively striving to balance ecological responsibility with meeting the needs of student dining preferences. The BUDS leadership team is working with student sustainability group the Binghamton University Food Sustainability (BUFS) on campus to identify workable solutions. This management/student partnership took action by replacing a snack and milkshake bar with a healthier option called Fresh Impressions, which serves better-for-you foods including fresh-squeezed juices and plant-based hot meals. The student feedback has been favorable, as Fresh Impressions has produced a 38 percent increase in positive responses from students.
