Howard County, Maryland, is seeking bids for healthy vending machines to comply with a law its county council passed in 2015 that mandates inclusion of at least 75 percent healthy snacks and drinks, according to Maryland Matters. Snacks may not contain trans fat, more than 200 calories per package or more than 35 percent of calories from fat.

Bids are due Aug. 14.
