Wright State University Students Petition For Healthier Vending Options

Nov. 3, 2015

The Student Government Association at Wright State University, located in Dayton, OH, is petitioning for healthier vending options around campus. The Guardian reports that the initiative would replace some traditional vending snacks with alternatives that are more nutritious, such as transitioning regular chips and pretzels to lightly salted or baked versions.

Wright State University joins other college campuses across the U.S. lobbying for healthier vending items. In late October, Allen Community College in Iola, KS, called for the addition of healthy options to its machines on campus alongside traditional items so that the consumer had choices.

The Wright State University Student Government Association does not have a date for when the new vending options will be available.
