June 12, 2019
Uber announced June 12 the company anticipates starting drone delivery of McDonald's food and two other restaurants in San Diego later this year, according to Business Insider. The drone - which Uber would design for food delivery - may land on an Uber vehicle to complete the delivery, which would lessen issues other drone delivery to homes programs have experienced. Acting FAA administrator Daniel Elwell and Department of Transportation Secretary Elaine Chao said the current administration seeks to help Uber and other companies to safely establish new products.
