AI vending machines: XMAI expands U.S. lineup to five models
XMAI Vending has expanded its AI vision vending machine lineup for U.S. operators with five models designed for locations ranging from smaller footprints to higher volume unattended retail sites.
The brand, operated in the United States by NexMart Smart Inc., says its Core, Pro and Max models target locations where footprint and assortment are key considerations. Its Ultra and Ultra Max provide more shelf capacity for locations with larger product selections or higher demand.
XMAI said the machines and their artificial intelligence recognition technology have undergone testing across different product packages, shelf layouts, merchandise mixes and operating environments. The company said that the process evaluates product recognition, payment authorization, door access, transaction completion, inventory updates and remote machine visibility.
The machines use an open-door checkout process: After a payment method is authorized, the customer opens the machine, selects products and closes the door. AI vision technology identifies the products removed, and the configured payment system completes the purchase. Depending on machine configuration and applicable requirements, operators can merchandise packaged drinks, snacks, fresh foods, baked goods and selected everyday items.
XMAI also pairs its machines with connected management software and compatible payment systems. Depending on the configuration, operators can remotely monitor sales, inventory, product performance, temperature, machine status, payment information and alerts across multiple locations.
