Israeli food-tech company Remilk and established dairy brand Gad Dairies have jointly introduced “The New Milk” in Israel. The product reportedly offers the taste, texture, frothing ability and stability in coffee that cow’s milk provides because Remilk’s proteins are identical to those produced by cows.
Remilk’s protein is made without using any animal cells, and the U.S. FDA has approved the protein under a “no-questions letter.” Israel’s Ministry of Health also approves it, the company noted in a release. The companies plan to launch additional products using the protein in the coming months.
As part of the launch, three products are being introduced: a Barista Milk for the Israeli food service market and, in January 2026, two for the retail consumer market: everyday milk and a vanilla-flavored milk.
Unlike plant-based milk substitutes, the companies note, New Milk is suitable for all uses for which traditional milk is used. It is lactose- and cholesterol-free; fortified with calcium and vitamins; and contains 75% less sugar than regular milk.
For convenience and refreshment services operators, the product offers a possible new dairy alternative that retains traditional beverage and food service performance while potentially better aligning with emerging functional, sustainable, and cleaner-label narratives.
