Nestlé opened its first-ever coffee concentrate production line in Asia at its Sri Muda factory in Malaysia, to scale up the supply of Nescafé Espresso Concentrate. The move comes as the company seeks to lead the fast-growing cold coffee segment, a growing cohort driven by younger consumers seeking café-style drinks at home and on the go.

The new line will support domestic and international markets, including Singapore, Oceania and the Middle East and North Africa region, with plans to expand in the future. Located near coffee sourcing regions, the Malaysia facility offers Nestlé efficient distribution across Asia.

Nestlé has invested approximately $360 million (CHF 290 million) in Malaysia over the past five years and plans to add  more than $185 million (CHF 150 million) by 2028 to bolster its capabilities in manufacturing, digital systems and product innovation.
