- In the last 12 months (April 2017-March 2018) exports reached almost 12.8 million bags, a 2% reduction compared with the over 13 million bags exported in the same previous period.
Bogotá, April 4, 2018 (FNC Press Office)– With one million 37,000 bags, production of Colombian coffee rose 2% in March compared to the one million 20,000 bags produced in March 2017.
However, the accumulated figures continue showing lower production compared to 2017. Year-to-date production reached almost 3.4 million bags, 6% less from the nearly 3.6 million bags produced in the first quarter of 2017.
In the last 12 months (April 2017-March 2018), production was almost 14 million bags, a 4% decrease from the over 14.6 million bags harvested in the same previous period.
And so far this coffee year (October 2017-March 2018) production exceeded 7.3 million bags, 8% less compared to the almost 8 million bags produced during the same previous period.
Exports fall 2% in last 12 months
In the last 12 months (April 2017-March 2018) exports reached almost 12.8 million bags, a 2% reduction from the over 13 million bags exported in the same previous period.
In March exports of Colombian coffee slightly exceeded 1 million bags, 14% down from the almost 1.2 million bags exported in March 2017.
Year-to-date exports (January-March) exceeded 3.2 million bags, 7% down from the nearly 3.5 million bags exported in the same period of the previous year.
And so far this coffee year(October 2017-March 2018)exports were almost 6.8 million bags, 10% less versus the nearly 7.5 million bags exported between October 2016 and March 2017.
