Colombian Coffee Production Increased 5% During The Past 12 Months

Bogota, October 5 2016 (FNC Press) – During the past twelve months, Colombian coffee production reached over 14 million 60 kilo bags. This represented a 5% increase compared to the 13.3 million bags produced between October 2014 and September 2015. 

Coffee production in September decreased 2% by reaching a total of 1.034 million coffee bags. Similarly, year to date production (January- September 2016) reached 9.9 million 60 kilo bags. This represented a 2% decrease compared to the 10 million bags produced during the same previous period.

Colombian Coffee Exports Increased 0.5%

So far this coffee year, Colombian coffee exports have experienced a mild recovery. Between October 2015 and September 2016, exports increased 0.5% by reaching a total of 12.34 million 60 kilo bags.

Coffee exports in September reached 1.040 million bags. This represented a 4% decrease compared to the 1.086 million bags registered in September 2015. Similarly, year to date coffee exports (January-September 2016) decreased 4% by reaching a total 8.9 million 60 kilo bags.
