Starbucks Cold & Crafted is the latest RTD beverage line from the coffeehouse giant. The new cold coffee will be available in three flavors, pictured above, and each has fewer than 100 calories.

Starbucks Cold & Crafted will be offered in 11-fl.oz. bottles, suitable for convenience services. The suggested retail price is under $3 a bottle.

According to Starbucks, cold coffee is on the rise and ready-to-drink coffee is a significant category, yet 72% of households have never tried a RTD coffee product. The Cold & Crafted line was developed to appeal to these consumers “with their preferences at the core.”

“The [R&D] team’s primary focus was to develop lightly sweetened coffee beverages, below 100 calories, without compromising the taste profile,” said Starbucks R&D senior product developer Manpreet Cheema.

“Choosing the best roast profiles and brewing method was key to delivering on a smooth, refreshing sip, and we did months of tastings and consumer tests to make sure we got it just right,” Cheema added.
