An Inside View Of 365’s Company Kitchen Acquisition: What It Means For Operators

Sept. 30, 2019

In early September, global micro market leader 365 Retail Markets announced the acquisition of self-service technology business Company Kitchen. Brittany Westerman, 365's director of strategy, and Linde Hutson, 365's director of marketing and communications, provided insight into this exciting phase of growth for the company.

Q: 365’s acquisition of self-service technology business Company Kitchen brings hundreds of dining locations into the 365 family. Why is 365 interested in expanding more into dining services?

Westerman: 365 has spent the past few years building our Connected Campus to help vending operators reach consumers wherever they buy snacks or food at work. Expanding our dining offering is a natural fit to continue to bring our customers the solutions, including pre-ordering and expanded healthy options, that are needed in the industry.

Q: The acquisition also brings thousands of new market locations to 365. How will Company Kitchen’s markets benefit from having more access to 365’s resources and technological innovations?

Hutson: Company Kitchen and 365 Retail Markets have a history of creating products to help our customers successfully operate their Markets, Dining and Vending. We look forward to sharing our learnings and best practices with each other and are excited to embrace the CK technology to offer new products to our existing customers.

Q: How does this new relationship affect current Company Kitchen customers? What can these customers expect in the future?

Westerman: This new relationship should not impact Company Kitchen customers, they can expect to receive access to the same great products and services they have received in the past. With this acquisition we are combing the best of breed technology, the highest levels of security and superior operational ease to our customers.

Q: Company Kitchen places a high priority on offering healthy options and wellness support for their clients. Will this continue to be an area of focus under 365, and if so, how does 365 plan to address the growing better-for-you trend?

Hutson: Company Kitchen’s wellness support for their clients is a powerful solution and brings a lot of value to our operators. 365 Retail Markets is happy to include this in our product offering going forward and will continue to stay on-top of trends that our customers and their consumers are looking for.
