Nation's Restaurant News reports that restaurant revenue growth was the highest it's been since 2015 in the third quarter of 2018. However, the number of guests is decreasing and the NRN doesn't see that turning around. The organization sites businesses upping benefits for employees instead of wages, which keep consumers from spending on things like eating away from home. In addition, the competition for the away-from-home dollar is more intense, further eroding the potential for increased sales.
