A recent article in Slate, a daily general-interest magazine on the Web, which delivers analysis and commentary news, discusses how most bottle deposits remain at a nickel, the same as it was 30 years ago. The author argues that the nickel isn’t worth even one cent compared to the average wage and cost of living. He believes the deposit per container should be closer to 30 cents. Full article.
