Missouri Congressman Meets With Mid-America Vending Association

June 12, 2013

The Mid-America Automatic Merchandising Association (MAMA) hosted Congressman Billy Long, R-Mo., at its annual meeting in Lark Ozark, Mo., on Saturday, June 8, announced the president of MAMA, Patrick Murphy

"I was delighted to meet with hard working men and women in the vending industry of Missouri, who strive each and every day to provide the best products for their customers,” said Long in a prepared statement. “I enjoyed the opportunity to learn about their innovations for their work. I came to Washington as a small business owner. If there was one thing I learned by being in business for over 30 years it was that the government can't create jobs, only the private sector can. Small businesses are the engine that drives our nation's economy."

“Everyone at MAMA was honored to have Congressman Long join us for this event. It was a great opportunity to meet and educate him on our industry and how we provide vital products to our consumers through vending and office coffee service," said Murphy.

Congressman Long’s visit was part of an enhanced effort by the NAMA Government Affairs Division to educate elected officials on the industry.
