Cantaloupe Systems, a provider of wireless remote monitoring systems to the vending industry, announced the hiring of Sarah Rankin to the newly created position of president and chief operating officer. The rapid increase in demand for Cantaloupe's monitoring systems has made the creation of this key position necessary to ensure the continued efficient execution of the company's core business processes.
"We are very lucky to have someone like Sarah join our team at this critical time," said Mandeep Arora, Cantaloupe's CEO in a prepared statement. "We are going through a period of accelerated growth and want to be sure that our high level of operating efficiency and customer service is maintained. Overseeing Cantaloupe's expanding supply chain and building our operational capabilities to best meet our customer's needs, will be just a few of Sarah's many responsibilities."
"I am very excited about the opportunity and potential for Cantaloupe," said Rankin. "The company is in a perfect position to influence and then leverage changes in both the vending and M2M markets. We see enormous growth in demand for Cantaloupe products and services, and continue to pursue our goal to make this into a world class service company. Combine all that with the great team already at Cantaloupe – it is clearly a wonderful opportunity and should be a great ride."
Over the past 25-plus years, Rankin has been extensively involved in developing and executing strategic plans for geographically diverse, complex entities providing oversight of operating procedures and associated financial controls.
As senior director, worldwide operations and engineering for Maxtor Corp., she managed all budgeting and financial activities and was responsible for logistical operations including supply chain management, inventory control and repair and recovery production operations. More recently, she worked for a portfolio of VC-backed technology companies providing guidance and oversight on the integration of business operations and, as CFO and treasurer, was responsible for budgetary planning and the introduction of disciplined financial management.
Rankin has a B.A. degree from Mt. Holyoke College and an M.B.A. from Dartmouth College, Amos Tuck School of Business.
