» CANTALOUPE, COMPUVEND INTEGRATE SYSTEMS
CompuVend and Cantaloupe Systems have begun integrating CompuVend’s VendPro vending management software and Cantaloupe’s Seed, real-time, vending machine monitoring management system. The goal is to provide CompuVend customers with an easy-to-operate, vending management program that incorporates the advantages of Seed remote monitoring technology with the reliability of the VendPro management software.

» CANTEEN BUYS PATTON MUSIC’S VENDING ASSETS
Canteen Vending, a division of Compass Group North America, has acquired the full-line vending assets of Patton Music Co. Inc. of Modesto, Calif. for an undisclosed sum. The acquisition includes about seven routes which Canteen will fold into an existing facility in Modesto. Patton retains its music and game business, according to L. Thomas Tarantelli, CEO of Fairport, N.Y.-based Taran Corp., which facilitated the transaction.

» COASTAL VENDING AND FOOD SERVICE INC. FILES FOR BANKRUPTCY
Coastal Vending and Food Service Inc., a Canteen franchisee based in Charleston, S.C., filed for bankruptcy protection, according to The Post and Courier in Charleston, S.C. In a court filing, the company, co-owned by John and Donna Trego, estimated assets of $503,000 and liabilities of $1.4 million.

The National Vend Brokers Association recently announced new officers. David Atnip, Atnip Co. Industry veteran Chris Mumford has left MEI after 17 years and formed the Mumford Group, LLC, along with majority partner, Kristin Mumford. Mumford Group is a manufacturers’ rep company, based in West Bloomfield, Mich., covering the midwestern U.S. and Canada. Mumford Group represents service and equipment companies specializing in energy efficiency and innovative solutions for the vending and bottling industries.

» LANCE NAMES BELYEU CUSTOMER BUSINESS MANAGER FOR VENDING
Tracy Belyeu has become customer business manager for the vending channel at Lance Inc. He assumes responsibilities previously held by Steve Homza, who left the company last year. Belyeu was previously a region manager for Lance’s Walmart business.

» VARIETY FOODSERVICES PROMOTES NOWAK TO VICE PRESIDENT
Variety FoodServices, Inc., based in Warren, Mich., promoted Lawrence M. Nowak to vice president of business and industry foodservices in its Warren, Mich. office. He was formerly director of vending services.
