Vending Technology Consultant Glenn Butler Notes New Debit Card Fees Challenge Cashless Vending

Glenn Butler, a vending technology consultant (CTO Services Inc., Boston, Mass.), notes that the debit swipe fee increases for small ticket transactions announced by Visa and MasterCard are a serious issue for the vending industry. Interviewed by Elliot Maras, editor of Automatic Merchandiser Magazine, Butler notes that the Durbin amendment has resulted in a decision by the institutions to boost small transaction fees.
