Editor’s Insight: With all of the challenges currently facing the vending industry, many operators do give a lot of thought to the food safety issue, but this is an oversight. All foodservice industry players are affected by this issue, and vending operators need to be aware of it.
The good news is that vending operators have an outstanding track record of preventing food borne illness. Operators should educate customers about their food handling procedures even though customers don’t ask about it.
