Crane Merchandising Systems Acquires Wireless Pioneer Isochron

Crane Merchandising Systems has acquired the intellectual property of Isochron, located in Austin Texas. Isochron was founded in 2000 and ceased operations Oct. 31, 2008.

Isochron pioneered wireless solutions for vending and specialized in developing technologies in remote monitoring, route optimization, cashless, and advertising/touch screens. In the past eight years the company invested $30 million into research and development and has been granted 10 patents with another 18 applications pending.

Isochron’s hardware, server and route optimization software has been developed through many years of “successful on the ground” operations with large bottlers. This experience has led to industry leading capability in Bluetooth networking technology, machine alert processing, cashless, dynamic dispatch and scheduling, space-to-sales, and interactive advertising with touch screen displays delivered from a web based server. The space-to-sales algorithms not only identify changes to be made, but includes procedures, software and handheld functions that help the route driver make the changes in a simple plug and play fashion.

Brad Ellis, president of Crane Merchandising Systems, said in a prepared statement: “Isochron’s experience and technology will accelerate our strategic initiatives in bringing innovative solutions to our customers. Because of the openness of both Crane Streamware and Isochron’s technology, we will be able to quickly implement the key Isochron solutions.”
