Just because Dave Ramsey is blind doesn't mean he can't see what's going on with his vending route. With the help of Cantaloupe System's Seed wireless monitoring system, and some quick thinking, Ramsey, who owns The Lunch Place vending service in Concord, New Hampshire, virtually witnessed his machines being robbed and then notified State Troopers who took into custody a mother and son team possessing $350 in small bills presumed taken from the failed heist. "The Seed System immediately let me know by text message that someone had opened one of my machines," said Ramsey. "I knew I couldn't catch anyone at that location, but I had my assistant drive me to some nearby machines figuring that that would be the thieves' next stop." Ramsey figured correctly. Lying in wait from a safe distance, Ramsey and his assistant saw two people enter the building housing the machines. "Within moments I was being notified again by text message that my machines were being robbed, and I knew we had them." The thieves left by car, but Ramsey and his assistant followed them at a distance notifying state police as they did. It wasn't long before Troopers pulled over and apprehended the couple.

Ramsey is the first blind vendor in the country to have his entire operation outfitted with a wireless monitoring system.
