Kraft's Yuban Coffee Becomes Rainforest Alliance Certified

Yuban Coffe Rainforest Alliance Certified

Now foodservice operators can offer their customers the rich, distinct flavor of Yuban coffee while allowing them to make a positive difference in the world. That's because Yuban is now a Rainforest Alliance Certified(TM) sustainable coffee.

Yuban is made from 100 percent premium Arabica coffee, so operators can please environmentally and socially conscious customers without compromising the quality of their coffee. By offering Yuban, they're helping to ensure that the rainforest and its wildlife are protected, and rivers and soils are conserved. Plus, it helps to ensure that workers in coffee-growing regions receive fair wages, access to healthcare, education and dignified housing.

"Every cup of Rainforest Alliance Certified Yuban coffee consumed in the United States is a vote for species conservation, forest protection and the improved livelihoods of thousands of farmers in Central and South America," said Sabrina Vigilante, Rainforest Alliance senior director of marketing and business development, in a prepared statement.

By serving an affordable cause-related coffee, operators will appeal to the increasing consumer demand for environmentally conscious products. In fact, according to the Natural Marketing Institute, 39 percent of customers want products made using sustainable agriculture.

This transition makes Yuban the only national brand whose full line of roast and ground coffee is Rainforest Alliance Certified. Yuban Rainforest Alliance coffee is available now.
