Editor's Insight: This site reported back on 04-16-07 that an organization was created to help raise money for middle-school and high-school athletics in the Seattle, Wash. school district to compensate for revenue lost due to a soda ban.

This article in The News Tribune documents some pretty significant revenue fallout from the soda ban. It also indicates that the school system has accepted the fallout, believing that the benefits will ultimately outweigh the costs.

VendingMarketWatch has noted that the soda ban is an ill-conceived measure that should be eliminated. There are certainly other things public schools can be doing to promote healthier lifestyles. The student activities supported by soda sales give students a chance to pursue an active lifestyle. 05-04-07 by Elliot Maras
