Aramark Refreshment Services has acquired Park Avenue Office Services, a Ft. Lauderdale-based provider of office coffee service to businesses in south Florida, from partners Al Hacker and Fred Steiner, for an undisclosed sum. The acquisition marks a geographic expansion for Aramark.
The acquisition brings more than 3,000 businesses to the Aramark client base.
Hacker said he will remain in a managing capacity for about 18 months. He said the company has about 50 employees who will remain employed. He said Steiner will continue to be involved in a consulting capacity.
Aramark will continue to operate the business locally under the Park Avenue name.
"We are excited about the new opportunities to enhance the break room experience for so many customers in south Florida, as well as to expand our geographic reach for our existing national accounts," said Michael Oppenheim, executive vice president, Aramark Refreshment Services, in a prepared statement.
