Idaho legislature considers tax on soda
The Idaho House Revenue and Taxation Committee introduced a
tax on soda pop Thursday as another option for the full House
to consider, according to the Idaho Statesman. This tax —
which is so new to Idaho the state doesn´t yet have a
reliable number on how much it could raise — would be added
into the arsenal of choices. Just four members opposed the introduction
— longtime conservative Reps. Lenore Barrett, JoAn Wood
and Shirley McKague, and freshman Republican Janice McGeachin.
