Maryland Adds Another Healthy Vending District

July 24, 2017

Due to an unanimous vote, the vending machines inside Prince George County buildings will be required to sell "affordable healthy snacks and beverage options," reports The Washington Post. The law was passed by the County Council in its final session before summer and makes Prince George the fourth jurisdiction in Maryland to adopt the healthy vending machine mandates. Healthy items are being defined as packaged food and drink choices that are low in fat, sodium and sugar, cites the article.
