Davians Names Ben Hudson As First Executive Chef

Jan. 16, 2017

Menomonee Falls, WI, January 16, 2016 – Davians, a Wisconsin food, beverage and impeccable service leader, announced today that it has named Ben Hudson as its first executive chef.  Hudson joined Davians in 2014 as executive chef of the re-opened iconic Brown Bottle restaurant. Brown Bottle Sous Chef Bergen Carlson-Price succeeds Hudson as Executive Chef at the Schlitz Park restaurant.

Davians is one of the state’s largest providers of catering and events; coffee, vending and micro markets; and dining and corporate café services.  In his new role, Hudson leads Davians innovative culinary team, including overseeing menu development, and liaises directly with Davians guests and event hosts acting as their personal chef.

“Ben earned rave reviews for his re-imagined menus, dishes and flavors at the Brown Bottle, a beloved and long-time Milwaukee dining favorite,” said Davians CEO Tim Taylor. “Now we can bring Ben’s creative flair, genius with ingredients, and passion for food, drink and entertaining to all Davians guests.”

Before joining the Brown Bottle, Hudson worked alongside such notable executive chefs as Adam Siegel and Nick Wirth from Bacchus. Hudson is a graduate of the Le Cordon Bleu Culinary Institute in Portland, and while there, served as head chef at vegan restaurant Hungry Tiger Too and was sous chef at Mama Mia’s Trattoria, an Italian fine dining restaurant.

Carlson-Price joined Hudson at the Brown Bottle in 2014 as sous chef and has been instrumental to the restaurant’s ongoing success. Previously, he spent five years at the Bartolotta Restaurant Group and has also been a part of the culinary teams that opened the Wolf Peach and dandan restaurants. Most recently Carlson-Price helped launched Suite 414, a new entertainment and events space located on the fourth floor of the Schlitz Park Stock-House, the same building as the Brown Bottle.

The Brown Bottle and Suite 414 have also hired well known restaurant management veteran Arnie Spella. His many years of management experience include long runs at Giovanni's Restaurant and Joey Buona's Pizzeria and Grille.
