Massachusetts Lawmaker Pushes For Healthier Options In Vending Machines

Sept. 28, 2016

State Representative Stephen Kulik (D-Worthington) is promoting legislation that would require healthier items in vending machines on state property, including state parks, public schools, the State House, etc., reports WWLP.

Kulik told the source that he hopes to have the bill on the desk of Massachusetts Governor Charlie Baker by the end of the year.

The bill would replace some of the more traditional vending machine items with healthier alternatives such as fresh fruits, granola bars and low calorie beverages.
