USConnect® Releases Summary Of 2015 Charitable Donations Made To More Than 100 Nonprofit Organizations

March 7, 2016

Greensboro, NC (March 7, 2016) - USConnect®, the nation’s premiere consortium of industry-leading independent food service companies, has just released a report on its charitable donations made in 2015. The donations represent an industry-leading commitment to giving back, as 1.5% of every dollar USConnect’s customers spend with their USConnectMe accounts are contributed to the charity of the customer’s choice.

The individual contributions add up for nonprofit organizations. Last year, for example, USConnect customers and affiliates gave $3,868 to the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation, a national nonprofit. They also made donations to almost 100 other nonprofits and charities, both local and national. Soup kitchens, animal shelters, hospitals: USConnect’s donations fund them all. USConnect’s largest contribution to a single nonprofit last year was to Southwire CARES, which received $18,582. USConnect’s total charitable contributions for the year were $ 49,564.

Jeff Whitacre, President of USConnect, says “We believe in helping our communities, and have designed our program so that our customers can take part as well. Giving back is personal. We all have causes we care about, and our system allows customers to support the causes that are most important to them. USConnect is taking charitable donations to the next level; our goal is to hit $1 million in donations.” Whitacre’s goal is well on track to becoming a reality. Still in its infancy – USConnect launched in late 2013 – the company’s growth rate continues to be in excess of 100% per year. Whitacre says its nationwide loyalty, promotions, and charitable giving program is just getting off the ground. Increasing the success of the program is the just-launched USConnectMe app, which will elevate awareness and adoption of the charitable giving opportunity.
