NAMA Recognizes Member Companies For Joining The American Business Act On Climate Pledge

Dec. 1, 2015

(CHICAGO) December 1, 2015 – NAMA announced today that seven member companies have taken part in the American Business Act on Climate Pledge, joining more than 140 companies.  These organizations demonstrate an ongoing commitment to climate action and to voice their support for a strong outcome to this week’s COP21 Paris climate negotiations.

“NAMA is proud to recognize these member companies, many of which are small businesses, for making this commitment,” said Eric Dell, NAMA Senior Vice President of Government Affairs. “Sustainability is an important focus for businesses looking to grow and adapt amid a changing environmental landscape. We applaud these members for taking this step to be a part of the solution.  We also urge other companies interested in joining the pledge to contact NAMA’s Government Affairs division.”

NAMA member companies to participate thus far include:

365 Retail Markets – Troy, Michigan

All Star Services - Pt. Huron, Michigan

Cantaloupe Systems, San Francisco, California

Compass Group and Canteen – Charlotte, North Carolina

Gourmet Coffee Service – Van Nuys, California

Royal Vending – Maple Grove, Minnesota

The Wittern Group – Des Moines, Iowa

This development is a result of NAMA’s ongoing advocacy program, specifically the association’s recent meeting with the White House during the October Public Policy Conference.

“As the Chair of NAMA’s Government Affairs Committee, we commend member companies who have made this commitment to climate action and encourage others to do so as well,” said Jeff Smith, All Star Services.

“Overall, NAMA’s membership working together on pledges like this will increase the profile of our industry and can also pay dividends to those individual companies interested in demonstrating their commitment to climate action,” he continued.
