PayRange Brings Bob Cooney On Board For Push Into Amusement Sector

Nov. 17, 2015

PORTLAND, OR (November 16, 2015) – PayRange Inc., maker of the world’s simplest mobile payment solution for machines, announces the engagement of longtime amusement industry veteran Bob Cooney. Vending machines with PayRange technology can be found in all 50 states and in Canada. The company is now rapidly expanding into amusement and providing an experience consumers are consistently rating as five-stars.

Cooney has built a successful 25-year career at the forefront of amusement technology, from laser tag to virtual technology to internet jukeboxes and restaurant tablets. He founded Laser Storm, an Inc. 500 and NASDAQ-traded laser tag manufacturer in 1990. Cooney then held very early stage senior positions with organizations including Global VR, a virtual reality manufacturer, Ecast, an online broadband jukebox company, and NTN Buzztime, a networked trivia company, where he held the role of COO.

“I’m thrilled to be working with PayRange,” exclaimed Cooney. “They’ve got one of the most exciting technology developments in the coin-operated space. Mobile payments are the next evolution of our cashless society, but hooking up every coin-op device to a network to enable cashless is just not financially or technically practical. PayRange technology allows operators to take mobile payments without having to even think about it. The low cost of the product, combined with the consumer friendly PayRange app, should make this a no-brainer for operators that run leagues and tournaments, arcades, family entertainment centers and any other locations that see repeat traffic.”

“We’re excited about Bob’s ability to help us build our business in the amusement sector,” says Paresh Patel, founder and CEO. “His experience with developing and selling technology products will help us meet the specific needs of amusement centers and operators. We had overwhelming interest from operators and distributors at the Amusement Expo this spring, and we look forward to Bob building on that momentum. He will be joining us at IAAPA this week, where we will have our product on display with Valley Dynamo at booth #1800 and Jersey Jack at booth #213.”

Cooney will work as an independent consultant helping PayRange with business development and assisting with building out the go-to-market strategy. He’ll work closely with Mike Maloney, Amusement Sales Manager, who has been calling on manufacturers and operators across the sector since this past summer. Cooney lives in San Clemente, California and will be working with Maloney to deploy PayRange across the US. Cooney can be reached at [email protected]
