Crane Merchandising Systems To Demonstrate Retrofit Screen At 2015 NAMA OneShow

April 20, 2015

LAS VEGAS – April 20, 2015 – Vending operators will get their first look at Crane’s Retrofit Screen for Navigator at the 2015 NAMA OneShow here this week. The 4.3” touch screen is a plug and play add-on to the Navigator telemetry and cashless solutions and is compatible with all 100,000 devices in the field today.

“Navigator is a platform designed to grow with operators as the technology and consumer preferences evolve,” said Kirn Reis, Vice President of Cashless.  “The Retrofit Screen was developed by Crane Payment Innovations and leverages both proven technology and a large field install base. This is just one example of how a modular and flexible platform can help operators build a future-ready connected network of machines, both new and retrofit, that will continue to grow in value, delivering new ways to connect with consumers and new revenue streams.”

The Retrofit Screen is designed to complement Crane’s Digital Product Advertising program for new Media machines which helps operators monetize consumer impressions. A benefit of the advertising program for operators is that it offsets some, or all, of the cost of offering cashless. Crane works with product companies to pay operators for displaying advertisements for products they already sell in the machine.

In addition to advertising, retrofit screens give operators a simple, inexpensive way to comply with Food and Drug Administration nutritional disclosure requirements, improve the consumer experience, communicate payment options and connect with customers.

“We believe connectivity is transformative to the industry and adding a screen to the network has the potential to completely change the economics of the online machine” said Brendan Kehoe, Vice President and General Manager for Streamware. “Our goal is to make the technology as flexible as possible, so operators have the opportunity to build a connected network that fulfills their unique vision for serving the consumer. We are excited to be showing the retrofit screen at NAMA, because it’s a great example of the power and flexibility of the Navigator platform.”

Crane Merchandising Systems offers both a retrofit cashless solution with Navigator for existing machines in the field and an elegant cashless solution for new Media machines, which combines an integrated payment solution connected directly to the screen.

Crane provides a range of competitive commercial programs for retrofit solutions, including financing, that lets operators choose how to Get Connected. Crane plans to have the retrofit screen in the field in late summer.

Operators attending the NAMA show can see the retrofit screen this week at the Crane booth, #1100.
