High Beef Costs Encourage QSRs To Promote Chicken Products

March 19, 2015

McDonald’s and Burger King are two quick-serve chains that have been pushing chicken products amid high beef costs, NRN reports. Beef prices are likely to remain high throughout 2015 as drought has led to reduced cattle herds. The price of beef has risen 19 percent over the previous year. Meanwhile, boneless chicken breast prices have declined 10 to 12 percent this year, the source says.
