GAMC Hosts First Annual Legislative Day At Georgia State Capitol

Feb. 27, 2015

(CHICAGO) February 26, 2015 – The Georgia Automatic Merchandising Council (GAMC) hosted a successful first annual GAMC Legislative Day on February 10, 2015 at the Georgia State Capitol in Atlanta. The GAMC members interfaced with the state’s legislators to educate and inform them about the industry and its contributions to the state’s economy, and provided product sample bags to more than 180 legislators and staff. Georgia Lieutenant Governor Casey Cagle met with the group during their activities as well.

A key part of the group’s message included promoting GAMC’s longstanding commitment to preserving consumer choice by providing customers with a variety of traditional snacks and beverages as well as “better for you” options to suit their lifestyles through NAMA’s FitPick Program.

“GAMC has been at the forefront of the nutrition solution in all aspects of the industry that our members are involved,” said GAMC President Kimble Carter. “We hope that this legislative event will become the standard for GAMC by serving the dual-purpose of showcasing our industry and providing a key opportunity to educate our elected officials on our efforts. Its success is a testament to the vision of the GAMC Board and members to ensure that our industry is on the radar of our key decision-makers,” he continued.

“As the faces of the industry in Georgia, the GAMC members demonstrated the positive impact that vending has on local economies throughout the state,” said Sheree Edwards, NAMA Legislative Director, who participated in the event as well. “GAMC’s legislative day is an important part of the process to build relationships with our elected officials so that we can provide them the information they need to make the most informed decision regarding legislation that can impact our industry,” she concluded.
