NAMA Signs Letter To Congress In Support Of Small Business Regulatory Flexibility Improvements Act Of 2015

Feb. 4, 2015

(CHICAGO)  February 4, 2014 – NAMA has joined more than 158 associations, trade groups and non-profit organizations as signatories to a letter to Congress in support of The Small Business Regulatory Flexibility Improvements Act of 2015 (H.R. 527).

The letter urges Congress to pass H.R. 527 to reform the regulatory process to ensure that all federal agencies appropriately consider the impact of their rules on small businesses across America. As a result, federal agencies would issue smarter regulations that minimize inefficiencies and unnecessary burdens while still protecting public health, worker safety and the environment. This legislation directly protects the industry with future regulations similar to the recently released calorie disclosure and Smart Snacks in School rules.

Congress is expected to vote on this legislation later this week.

“This letter is being sent to urge Members of Congress to support the backbone of America’s economy, small business,” said Eric Dell, NAMA SVP of Government Affairs. “A large majority of the refreshment services industry is impacted by this legislation. Furthermore, it is important to note that 113 industry leaders and NAMA members have sent messages to 157 of their Members of Congress through our grassroots online portal, www.namavoice.org, the second-highest on-line effort in recent history” he continued.

“We are encouraging all Members of Congress to work together to pass this important bi-partisan legislation” he concluded.
